Lionel Richie Event Misunderstanding in Times Square
Fans of Lionel Richie expressed significant disappointment following an event in Times Square on September 29. Attendees arrived expecting an intimate concert, only to find that the event, titled "Truly: An Evening of Lionel Richie and Friends," was actually a discussion about his memoir rather than a musical performance. Many fans, some of whom paid up to $600 for tickets, felt misled by the event's classification as a concert on ticketing platforms.
Comments on social media reflected frustration, with one fan stating they felt deceived by the marketing and called for refunds. The event was presented as a conversation featuring Lionel and moderator Robin Roberts, which led to confusion among attendees who anticipated live music. While some audience members were vocal about their dissatisfaction, others appreciated the candid discussion about Richie's life and career. His memoir, released shortly after the event, explores his experiences over five decades in the music industry.

I NEVER GOT IN
I went to the venue for the show an hour and a half early. When I tried to bring up my tickets on my phone, I couldn't get connected to get into my account. Itried for 2 hours. I called but couldn;t get through either. S I never wsaw the swhow. i called ticketmaster and they said they weren't responsible because I bought the tickets from VIVID. I talked to ViVID and they said that Ticketmaster was responsible. I had insurance on the tickets but that expired on the day the show went on. It wasn't worth the ppaper it was printed on. VIVID sold me the tickets advertising that i could print the tickets and I did so. A week before the show they sent me an email saying the printed tickets were no good and that I had to download electronic ones to my phone. I didn't like this since I was afraid that what happened could happen. So I am out $379. I surgget you buy tickets right from the venue, avoid the fees and get tickets in hand.
